Farms to Neighbors + Thousand Tree Kitchen

During the month of July, Thousand Tree Kitchen has generously offered to donate 10 percent of sales to the Farms to Neighbors program. If you’ve landed on this page, you’re probably interested in learning more about how Farms to Neighbors ensures equitable access to local foods, and supports local farmers along the way. You can learn more about the program in the paragraphs below, and if you’re interested in joining the effort, you can set up a one time or recurring contribution. Even a few dollars per month can make a big difference!

The Farms to Neighbors program is based on two simple truths: everyone should have access to high quality, locally produced food and farmers deserve to be paid full price for the fruits of their labor. When it comes to food access, these two truths are often at odds. However, with the support of generous community members, we can achieve both! Farms to Neighbors donations translate directly into food purchases from participating local farmers, and the food purchased goes directly to community members that need it most. The Cove food bank is our partner for the program, and we rely on them to distribute the fresh food we purchase to local families. Food is provided by Red Shed, Hoodoo Blooms, Double Tree Dairy, Willow Brook Farm, Dear Table Farm, Kings Garden, Bluebird Grain Farms, Channing Farms, and BCS Livestock.

This program was started during the pandemic when families were in need of help and the fate of regular sales channels for farmers was drawn into question. Though regular markets have returned, we plan to continue the program as long as the need for it persists.
