HEALTH SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR SATURDAY PICKUP

*Subject to change based on most current guidelines. Updated 4/23/20

CUSTOMERS will be asked to follow these guidelines:

PREPARE AHEAD OF TIME:

  • Pre-order from the farms by the deadline.  Farms will not have additional items for sale during the pickup.

  • Please bring your own hand sanitizer, as the farms are not able to provide you with sanitizer or hand washing stations.

  • Bring a mask, to protect those around you.

  • If you did not pay online, please bring a pre-written check, or exact change.  Farmers cannot provide you with pens or change.

  • Please bring a copy of your order from each farm, for your own reference (printed or in your phone).

  • Please bring your own bags (that only you will touch).

  • Please send just one member of your family to the pickup.

  • If you are feeling unwell or experiencing any symptoms of coronavirus, please send someone to retrieve your order for you.

  • If you are in a high-risk group, please send someone to retrieve your order for you.

DURING PICKUP:

  • Please wear your mask, for the safety of others.

  • Please ensure at least 6 feet of distance between you and other patrons, at all times. You may feel welcomed to gently ask fellow patrons to step back if they are too close.  There will also be a coordinator to help ensure social distancing is maintained.

  • Please make an orderly, socially-distant line when retrieving your order. Do not approach the farmer’s area until directed.  They will place your order on a table, step back, and then invite you to retrieve your order.

  • Do not hand farmers your cash or check -- if you did not pay online, you will be asked to show them the check/cash, and place it in a designated box.

  • Do not touch any produce or products other than your own.

  • Be patient and understanding.  We are all learning to adapt. Please know how much we appreciate your good will and desire to support local farms!

FARMS will be asked to follow these guidelines:

ON THE FARM:

Farms will maintain their usual good agricultural practices and food safety protocols.  They will be asked to follow additional recommendations from the Washington State Department of Health’s “Food Worker Guidance for COVID-19” and the Washington State Department of Agriculture’s recommended “Preventative Measures for Produce Farms”

DURING PICKUP

  • Farmer booths will be spaced well apart to allow for social distancing among vendors and shoppers.

  • Farmers will be wearing masks and gloves at all times.

  • Farmers will change gloves, and sanitize or wash hands at 30 minute intervals, or after touching money, a phone, or other high contact, non-food surfaces.

  • Farmers will sanitize any high contact surfaces, such as the pickup table, every 15 minutes.

  • All orders will be pre-packed, and handling of produce will be limited. Farms will not have additional items for sale during pickup.
